SOAR & Open House Accommodations

SOAR & Open House

SOAR prepares students for their times as a 49er. Students new to UNC Charlotte will attend the Student Orientation and Academic Resources (SOAR) program. The SOAR program assists students with their transition to UNC Charlotte and prepares them to be successful in their first semester and beyond. Visit the Transition & Success Initiatives website to learn more.

Undergraduate Admissions offers Open House Events that give prospective students the opportunity to spend the day connecting with academic departments, campus resources, and more. To learn more about Admissions Events, visit the Admissions website.

Accommodations and Access

Disability Services, Transition & Success Initiatives, and Admissions collaborate to ensure accessibility for attendees to these programs and events. Students needing reasonable accommodations to participate in any part of SOAR or an Open House event should contact Disability Services and SOAR or Open House Staff at least three weeks prior to the event date. DS staff are also available to meet with prospective students to discuss our registration process and services. Include requests for accommodations in your SOAR or Open House registration and list the accommodations needed.

Sign Language Interpreters, CART Services, or Alternate Text

Students needing sign language interpreters, CART services, or text in alternate format (e.g., Braille) must contact Disability Services and submit documentation at least 3 weeks prior to their SOAR or Open House date.  Every effort is made to address accommodations requested late; however, we cannot guarantee accommodations for late requests.
