SOAR & Open House Accommodations

SOAR: In order to prepare for your times as a 49er, students new to UNC Charlotte will attend the Student Orientation and Academic Resources (SOAR) program. The SOAR program assists accepted students with transitioning to UNC Charlotte, allowing students to meet with academic advisors and register for classes. Visit the SOAR website to learn more.

Open House Events allow prospective students the opportunity to meet faculty, staff and students, discuss educational goals, and get a real taste of campus life at UNC Charlotte.

Disability Accommodations

Disability Services, Admissions, and Transition and Success Initiatives collaborate to ensure accessibility for attendees to these programs. Students needing reasonable accommodations in order to participate in any part of the programs should contact Disability Services and SOAR or Open House Staff at least three weeks prior to the event date. DS staff are also available to meet with prospective students to discuss our registration process and services. Include requests for accommodations in your SOAR or Open House registration and list the accommodations needed.

Sign Language Interpreters, CART Services, or Alternate Text

Students needing sign language interpreters, CART services, or text in alternate format (e.g., Braille) must contact Disability Services and submit documentation at least 3 weeks prior to their SOAR or Open House date.  Every effort is made to address accommodations requested late; however, we cannot guarantee accommodations for late requests.
